ABOUT
I’ve worked my way up from self-study to consulting Fortune 500 companies, leading enterprise AI/ML strategy, and standing up end-to-end production pipelines. I currently work as a Data Scientist Engineer at NTT Data and recently led ML transformation at National Guardian Life, where I was promoted three times in three years for delivering both technical firepower and business impact.
I’m Mike Anderson — a Principal Data Scientist, AI/ML Consultant, and relentless builder with a passion for solving complex problems that matter.
I'm pursuing my Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at Johns Hopkins University, where I’m diving deep into advanced machine learning, neural computation, reinforcement learning, and generative AI. The goal? To refine my theoretical foundation, challenge my assumptions, and push the boundaries of what I can build — both academically and in the real world.
My toolbox includes everything from classical models (XGBoost, CatBoost, Random Forests) to neural networks (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers), and enterprise infrastructure like Terraform, AWS, Azure ML, and scalable MLOps pipelines. I've built SHAP-based explainability dashboards, drift detection systems from scratch, clustering models to segment customer behavior, and full-stack data lake solutions with anomaly detection layers. I work fluently across both structured and unstructured data — including generative AI projects with large language models.
But I'm not just an engineer. Before tech, I was a professional composer working on movies, video games, and TV, a lot of which is still aired today. I earned my Master’s in Film Scoring, played with a well-known band for 8 years, and even played the Pilgrimage Music Festival alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. That creative discipline — arranging music, telling stories, performing live under pressure — now feeds directly into how I approach machine learning: structured, expressive, and always tuned for impact.
If you're looking for someone who blends deep technical skill with strategic thinking, creative vision, and a proven track record of execution — someone who can lead, build, ship, and scale — then we should talk.
